Limenitis Arthemis is also known as the white admiral or red-spotted purple! It s a North American species in the cosmopolitan genus Limenitis.
It has been studied for its evolution of mimicry, and for the several stable hybrid wing patterns within this nominal species;
it is one of the most dramatic examples of hybridization between non-mimetic and mimetic populations. They are described to be beautiful and highly active.
The butterfly species themselves can be divided into two major groups simply from one main characteristic, the white band on the upper wings.
However, besides the look of the butterfly, they're in constant motion. Their flights are short in duration and at low altitudes, flying only about 2 to 3 feet off the ground.
When not in flight, they are constantly walking over leaves and folding their wings. They enjoy the sun as many are found to be resting at the highest points on trees.
During the short period they are at rest, they keep their wings closed, body at a 45 degree angle upwards, and antennae straight forward.
Both sexes of this species are identical except that the females are slightly larger than the males.

White Ranunculus Flowers (Buttercups!) are very large genus comprises about 250 species of widely differing habit and appearance.
It is a popular ornamental plant in gardens, and widely used in floristry. Ranunculus are classic wedding flowers, with cup-shaped blooms and layers of delicate petals unfurling from a tight center.
The paper-thin petals are pure white, and complemented by a lime-green “eye” in the center of the bloom.
The name ranunculus is a combination of two Latin words, rana meaning frog and unculus meaning little.
It is assumed that ranunculus flowers earned this name because they grew along streams and were as plentiful as little frogs in the spring.
According to Persian legend, a young Persian Prince who always wore green and gold, became enamored with one of the beautiful nymphs and sang to her night and day.
According to one version, the nymphs became so tired of listening to the young Prince sing that they turned him into a ranunculus flower.
Another version declares the young prince died of heartbreak when his love was not returned and up sprang a giant ranunculus flower in his place.
